Why is the witness of one man considered to be equal to the witness of two women?

In one of the Qur’anic verses the testimonies of two women are demanded, this is only related to written testimony, it cannot be used anywhere else. Moreover, the testimony of two women is related to business and transactions. One of the explanation for this is that women were not very active in the business life in that time, thus, it would be possible to make mistakes when expressing the testimony or a woman may not fully understand the business transactions or details related to such business, thus the Qur’an asked the testimony of two women in written form. But, since the real reason is not explained in the Qur’an and the effective cause (‘illah) is not known for this ruling one cannot say that this Qur’anic rule is not valid today. Rather, the ruling is valid for ever.
